new driver...hopefully will be a putter!

Well, northern Ontario roads have yet another new driver...Becky got her license today.
So, when her parents get around to including her on their insurance, she will be off any running. She did well, taking her test at noon rush hour in Thunder Bay (no, there really isn't such a thing).

Also, sending off a couple photos of a lovely spring day here. The lunas (there are 2) were romancing on the pine tree. Love is in the air!

Prom Dress update

Just got back from a shopping trip to Duluth (4 hrs to the south in Minnesota, where everyone talks like they are in the movie Fargo).
The primary purpose of this trip was to acquire a dress for the High School Graduate's Prom on June 9th. Fortunately aforementioned graduate brought along a friend for support, as the graduate's parents are lacking any taste or experience in such matters, although they do have the necessary funding. After a second trip to the mall, and after approximately 5 hours there trying on at least 25 dresses, the perfect one was found. For those of you with girls, or were girls, you understand. For those of you with boys...well, there is no comparison. (Shoes were also needed, and found, with much less fanfare).
Mother and Father enjoyed looking at tools, kitchen items, and bathroom towels...we are soooo old and boring. Our favourite thing to do in Duluth is a visit to The Olive Garden, delicious food.
The last shop to be visited by the girls was "the Electric Fetus". I know, what the heck is that? If you think back to the 70's (those of you who remember the 70's) you will remember the smell of incense, very odd jewelry, tie-die, (the odd bong pipe) and miscellaneous items pertaining to the currrent rebelious bands...nothing is different in "the Electric Fetus". It is a very HOT place to go, parents find other places to go.
So, now we are home, and Becky has gone to a bonfire and campout. I expect the temperature to be very close to freezing tonight, so I hope they have fun!
Hope all are well, thanks for visiting the blog...I enjoy this techno adventure.

Well, here we are!

Lady's Slipper Orchid beside our driveway last year; don't be amazed,
they haven't even shown any leaves yet...but soon, very soon.

So, now we are bloggers...I use the "we" as me for now, but I do have aspirations of Bruce adding to this now and then. He has after all mastered the internet lately, so there could come a time. We are having a very windy rain storm right now, and of course Becky is at the ball diamond with friends. I assume they are sitting in their cars or at the Dorion Inn having a hot drink by now. Well, don't want to overdo it on my initial visit at the blogger, so will say goodbye for now.
