Prom Dress update
Just got back from a shopping trip to Duluth (4 hrs to the south in Minnesota, where everyone talks like they are in the movie Fargo).
The primary purpose of this trip was to acquire a dress for the High School Graduate's Prom on June 9th. Fortunately aforementioned graduate brought along a friend for support, as the graduate's parents are lacking any taste or experience in such matters, although they do have the necessary funding. After a second trip to the mall, and after approximately 5 hours there trying on at least 25 dresses, the perfect one was found. For those of you with girls, or were girls, you understand. For those of you with boys...well, there is no comparison. (Shoes were also needed, and found, with much less fanfare).
Mother and Father enjoyed looking at tools, kitchen items, and bathroom towels...we are soooo old and boring. Our favourite thing to do in Duluth is a visit to The Olive Garden, delicious food.
The last shop to be visited by the girls was "the Electric Fetus". I know, what the heck is that? If you think back to the 70's (those of you who remember the 70's) you will remember the smell of incense, very odd jewelry, tie-die, (the odd bong pipe) and miscellaneous items pertaining to the currrent rebelious bands...nothing is different in "the Electric Fetus". It is a very HOT place to go, parents find other places to go.
So, now we are home, and Becky has gone to a bonfire and campout. I expect the temperature to be very close to freezing tonight, so I hope they have fun!
Hope all are well, thanks for visiting the blog...I enjoy this techno adventure.
ta for now

What a hoot-it reminds me of a similar trip a few years ago with the same girl in Guelph where she had to endure a tasteless mother and aunt.
Can't wait for a picture of THE DRESS.
BTW get in touch with the Cochrane kids-they want to hire daughter #1 to rework a couple websites-very impressed with her talent. Less impressed with their scores on the quiz.
Tell Erin she needs to update her contact info on the website-they tried to call her.
Boys ARE definitely easier to satisfy. I can't imagine spending more than 15 minutes finding a decent pair of shoes and digging up a shirt from the pile and making sure it's not too wrinkled.
Whether ithe tie matches or not is immaterial.
Great to hear of your experiences though, and are also looking froward to seeing a picture of the Prom Queen.
Also, were impressed with Erin's site but took forever to load on dial-up at 44Kps.
What? Did I just get called "tasteless"? Or was that another aunt?
:):):)
no timberdoodle, the tasteless aunt was the one from the west...I remember the outing well. You were wise enough to stay at home and wish us well with our venture.
haha, my contact info is now updated.
ooh, work eh?
Sounds like fun.
Sending me an e-mail would be best.
